Art Workshops
Mommy & Me Workshop with South Amboy Arts Alliance:
Children participated in an interactive presentation and learned about Georges Seurat, a famous French artist who invented a technique called pointilism. Pointilism is the use of tiny dots of paint that are blended by the viewer's eyes. Children and their moms learned various patterns of bracelet making. Children and their moms painted flower pots based on the technique they learned and planted plants to celebrate Mother's Day.

How to complete this project:
Clean the outside of a flowering pot
Use q-tips, toothpicks, and eraser end of pencils to create various sizes of dots
Use materials to dot acrylic paint onto the pot creating a pattern (use different colors of paint closely together to create the effect of blending colors)
When finished with painting, fill pot with soil and plant a houseplant such as a spider plant (don't forget to water your plant!)
